Fairy Tale Mural         8’x17’

For this project the client specified that she wanted to do something in a trompe l’oiel involving the archway, and otherwise cover the wall with the scene. We decided on a page from a fairy tale.
-In these preliminary drawings I came up with the idea of incorporating the arch into the ruins of a castle, and throwing in the obligatory princess, knight, sprites, dragon, dwarf, and various other little details.
-I did a couple water colors of some of the detail to give the client and idea of color scheme and detail.
-The rest of the images show the development of the painting through completion. How many figures can you find in the tree?
